ABOUT

MISSION AND HISTORY
Loreal Walker is the founder and owner of Walking to Success. She received her Masters in Social Work from Wayne State University in 2011 and her Bachelors in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University in 2009. She has been a case manager with Maternal Infant Health Programs for 3 years. As a case manager she assisted pregnant women and parents who had an infant through their first year of life. Then she went no to become a School Social Worker for five years where she worked with children from ages 5-18. It was while working in the school system she got her vision of Walking to Success Community Services.
Loreal realized that in order to truly implement change in a child's life it was easier to include the parents. She noticed society teachers girls to be princesses, what to expect from a guy and ther are more female mentorship programs being offered for females. Young males are taught to be super heros, society focues more on sports with males and there are some male mentorship programs but not nearly as many as the females. After building rapor with parents and saw mentorship programs lacked parent involvement she got the ideal to build prepare youth for life after high school and inspire parents, guradians, and the community to help better their own life as well.
So on January 1, 2015 Loreal began turning her dreams into a reality and that reality has turning into Walking To Success Community Services. Where her vision is to inspire and empower Detroit and Metro Detroit Communities.
